Spy Science: Crime Scene Investigators (K-6th)

How do detectives and investigators use science to solve a mystery? We will spend this program understanding forensic science and learning the tricks of the spy trade. We'll investigate fingerprints, spying techniques (surveillance), secret codes, invisible ink, and other sneaky science!

 

Scratch Coding & Game Design (3rd-6th)

Software: Scratch 2 

Skill Level: Beg.

In this course students will learn basic programming and logic flow and learn how to apply those concepts to create games. Using Scratch, a scripting language developed by MIT to give kids an easy entry into coding, students will go through the iterative process of creating a program or game from idea to completion. Successful students in this class will have several completed 2D games they will be able to play and show off on most computers and will have mastered the skills they need to continue making games using scratch at home.

 

Hip Hop Dance (K-4th)

Kids in Motion hip hop class is a high energy, exciting dance fitness class, with an emphasis on hip hop music and dances. Classes are set up with kid friendly music, movements, and routines. They will learn choreography to about three songs per class. In addition to a dance workout, they will end the class with a super fun dance game, such as freeze dance, dancing 4 corners, follow the leader, and the like! Instructors are experienced dance fitness teachers and all instructors receive further training through Kids in Motion lead teachers.



TUESDAYS

Chess K-6th (Tues PM)

Learn chess with Silver Knights Chess Academy (formerly Magnus Chess Academy), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided. Cooking: Breakfast Club (K-6th)

In this session, the kids will get to learn all sorts of breakfast treats, ranging from super simple, to a delicious meal to get excited over! They will be breakfast champions by the end, being able to crack eggs without a second thought and how to be a baking pro. 

 

Fast Break Hoops - Basketball (K-2nd)

Swish! Join us for Fast Break Basketball where you'll learn FUNdamental basketball skills like dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. Test your skills while we play Dribble Scribble, King of the Court, Hot Shot Shooting and MORE!

 

Outta the Park Wiffle Ball  (2nd-6th)

This is not baseball, its much better - no standing around, no hard balls and no strikeouts. Just hitting, running, throwing and playing. With games like flip, 500, Target Bunting and Relay base running all players will be involved, have fun and be active.



WEDNESDAYS

Debate Club (3rd-6th)

Students will select debate topics they find appealing, and learn the art of persuasion. Students will work in rotating groups and practice their debating skills in a supportive environment, including developing arguments, issuing rebuttals, providing examples, rebuilding their case and summarizing points of view. Students will learn to think on their feet and enhance their public speaking skills, gaining self-confidence in the process.

Note: This club is structured as 3 independent and different modules to be offered year-round (preferred) or individually in the fall, winter or spring.

 

Engineering w/ Little Bits (K-2nd)

In this class, younger students are introduced to basic electronics including input/output through hand-on learning and projects. Students combine everyday supplies and color-coded modules to create different projects such as custom flashlights, touch sensors, alarm clocks, and more!

Bath Bomb Explosions Bath Bomb Making  (K-6th)

Students will enjoy measuring, pouring, mixing, and experimenting with different colors, scents, and recipes in this fun bath bomb class. Each class will be filled with fun and cool new techniques to try different types of bath bombs to use or gift. What a fun new hobby! 



THURSDAYS

Acting Improv Adventures (K-3rd)

In this class, young performers step into the spotlight with laugh-out-loud activities! Each season offers fresh experiences through lively improv games and interactive acting exercises, focusing on storytelling and imaginative exploration instead of traditional scripts. Participants will think on their feet while enhancing their communication skills, stage presence, and teamwork in the exciting world of improvisation. Parents are invited to join us for a special mini-performance during the final class.

 

Get Loopy Crocheting Class (2nd-6th)

Crocheting is not only a relaxing hobby, but it also helps children deal with stress and coping in stressful situations. It is great for children that deal with anxiety and helps tune the fine motor skills of the children. It is also a fun hobby to learn. In this class, the children will start with a scarf in the Fall and Winter, and a small blanket in the Spring and Summer. Children will learn the different techniques of crocheting. There is an age restriction on this class, however, this class can be tailored to fit all age groups. For the smaller age groups, the techniques used will be more of weaving than crocheting.

 

TGA Afterschool Tennis  (K-5th)

GET READY TO SERVE, VOLLEY, AND RALLY WHILE HAVING FUN WITH TGA!

Our trained and verified coaches combine athletics, academics, and life lessons to create fun and engaging tennis programs.


We include sport skill development, rules & etiquette lessons, physical activity, and a steam component that examines the concepts through the lens of the sport.
